A good mood characterised the course of the 24th International Deubau Construction Trade Fair which came to an end at Messe Essen on Saturday evening. All in all, Deubau achieved a result which turned out to be "better than expected" for the vast majority of the exhibitors. In view of the overall economic situation at the moment, they showed that they were positively surprised by the strong popularity which they and the construction products and processes introduced by them encountered.
With around 67,000 visitors in total, Deubau achieved a result at approximately the same level as that of the last Deubau. Frank Thorwirth, Chairman and CEO of Messe Essen, rates this as an absolutely respectable success: "As the largest universal construction fair of this year, we have managed to put the spotlight on the topical subjects in the construction fields of structural engineering, finishing and civil engineering. Attention primarily focused on the areas of redevelopment, renovation and modernisation - construction measures which make up around 70 percent of the construction investment in the meantime." Energy efficiency, climate protection and sustainability - those are said to be the "driving forces" behind the construction sector. According to Thorwirth, "The significance of Deubau was also highlighted by the fact that many politicians, headed by the Federal Construction Minister Dr. Peter Ramsauer and the North Rhine-Westphalian Minister of Economic Affairs Christa Thoben, were looking for detailed dialogue with the sector at the fair."
The 25th International Deubau Trade Fair will take place at Messe Essen on January 10 - 14, 2012. Within the framework of a representative survey, around 90 percent of the visitors stated: "We are definitely intending to come back to visit the next Deubau too." Towards the end of the fair, over 80 percent of the exhibitors were already confirming that they would once again participate in Deubau as as an exhibitor in 2012 as well.
